St. Vincent’s Medical Center's Elizabeth M. Pfriem SWIM Center for Cancer Care is in partnership with the Connecticut Challenge to begin a Survivorship Center in the new Cancer Center, opening in January 2010.
Enhancing St. Vincent’s holistic care, the new St. Vincent’s Survivorship Center will provide a home for all of the support groups and services that the SWIM Across the Sound has offered for years.
Services:
massage
yoga
meditation
a garden courtyard for infusion therapy patients
free lectures
wellness and fitness education
nutritional counseling
psychosocial support
a cancer boutique
financial counseling
By screening for long-term health and psychosocial effects from the disease and treatments, the goal of the St. Vincent’s Survivorship Center will be to educate and empower survivors to optimize their health, quality of life and longevity.
For referral to a St. Vincent’s physician or to learn about programs and services, call the toll-free Care Line at 1-877-255-SVHS (7847) or visit www.stvincents.org.
