Ask. Believe. Receive.

Ask. Believe. Receive.

Three little words that are more meaningful during these holiday times.

When I work with folks seeking health and fitness improvements, these words also take on significant meaning.

Ask  Sounds easy, right?  To ask means you really need to know what you are looking to get or accomplish.  In the world of universal energy and abundance, if you really can’t identify exactly what you want, it’s almost impossible to have it manifested in your life.

Do you have fitness goals?  Health goals?  Spend some time truly thinking about them and write them in a dated journal.  Be specific: “Fit into my favorite jeans”, vs. “lose weight” – make them even more laser focused by tagging on a date “by April 10th”.

To ask also means to get the help you need to be able to take fitness and health timeouts for yourself.

Need daycare for an hour three times a week?  Ask.  Need your family and friends to support you (or even join you) in your walking program.  Ask.

Believe  Hey, we all believe in Santa, right?  Or… do we?  You need to truly believe that what you are seeking will become yours.  Even more powerful is the mindset that you are already fit and healthier; feel how a fit and healthy person would stand, would choose their food, would schedule their day to include exercise.

Doubts can be the anchor pulling a great “Ask” down- so be focused on pushing them away!  Any idea that you decide to “try” (vs. “do”) is permission to fail and that belief can put the brakes on changes you want to invite into your life.

Receive – It is critical that you are an active player in reaching your goals.  “Ask” and “Believe” don’t mean sit on the couch until fitness and improved health arrive.

When the opportunity comes your way to take that dance class, skate with your kids, or simply fit another 10 minutes of walking in, grab it and smile.

These three steps seem simple don’t they?  Well, like other simple things one or all of them may not be easy - give yourself the loving support to do your best, refine and reframe your mind when necessary and then see what wonderful changes you can make in this magical season.
