Middlesex Hospital Gentle Yoga Class
Weekly yoga class
Yoga has proven benefits for cancer patients - both those in active treatment and post-treatment. Gentle, restorative movement and relaxation techniques relieve stress and anxiety. Therapeutic yoga offers support for the immune system, can help to ease medication side effects and balance energy to address fatigue. Classes are open to cancer patients in active treatment or post-treatment, patient's guests and Middlesex Hospital employees.
Meg Birmingham is a nurse and certified yoga instructor experienced in teaching Hatha, gentle, restorative, and adaptive yoga with influences from Kripalu, Kundalini and Buddhist philosophies, incorporating aspects of energy healing into each class.
Enrollment for a full, four-or eight week program is strongly encouraged. Cost: Four week program: $50. Eight week program: $100. Payment can be made at the first session. Walk-ins are welcome.
