CT Challenge Presents Grant to Ann's Place

April 16, 2010

This week, The Connecticut Challenge visited with folks from Ann’s Place, the community-based cancer support and resource center, in Danbury, Connecticut.  The occasion was a grant presentation for psychosocial support programs.

Sharyn Taymor (r) of the Connecticut Challenge presents a check for $5,000 to Wilda Hayes (l), Executive Director of Ann's Place.

In addition, we toured the site of their beautiful new facility, currently under construction and soon to be completed.  Much progress has been made since our last visit there in the fall. They are eager to get into the new space which is situated in a lovely, peaceful setting, surrounded by nature.

Ann’s Place provides comfort and support to anyone living with cancer, with 600 visits a month to their support groups, yoga, relaxation and reiki programs, individual and family counseling, and so much more. The Greater Danbury area is lucky to have this wonderful resource, with caring and inspirational people, serving the needs of cancer survivors in their communities.  We will let you know when the new doors open so that you can take a ride over and say “hello”.
