New Haven, Conn. — Dr. Thomas Lynch, Jr., MD, Director of Yale Cancer Center, recently appointed Dr. Tara Sanft as Assistant Professor of Medicine in Medical Oncology and Medical Director of Adult Survivorship for the Connecticut Challenge Survivorship Clinic at Yale Cancer Center.
“Tara’s clinical and research focus on palliative care and cancer survivorship will bring new expertise to Yale Cancer Center and help to strengthen our outreach and care to cancer survivors through the Connecticut Challenge Survivorship Clinic,” Dr. Lynch said.
Dr. Sanft’s research efforts are focused on palliative care and pain management, geriatric cancer care, and special needs of cancer survivors resulting from long-term side effects of cancer treatment. In addition to her research responsibilities, Dr. Sanft will be an active member of the Yale Cancer Center Breast Cancer Program. Before joining Yale Cancer Center, Dr. Sanft was the Chief Fellow in oncology and palliative care at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine.
A graduate of Loras College, Dr. Sanft received her medical degree from Medical College of Wisconsin. She completed her residency training and her fellowship in hematology/oncology at Northwestern University.
