Breast Cancer Survival Center meeting

for women

The Breast Cancer Survival Center, a Fairfield county non-profit, has been holding support groups, retreats and candle lightings for post-treatment survivors for the past 12 years.

The first meeting at the Wilton Library will be held on September 13th from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM in the President’s Room. Sandwiches, fruit and a beverage will be provided. Please call Nina Marino, LCSW, Clinical Director of The BCSC, at 203-857-7304 with any questions.

The BCSC has found that once treatment ends (surgery, radiation and/or chemo) and the visits to doctors are less frequent, the survivor often feels very vulnerable and may still have the need for support, understanding and validation beyond what family and friends can give. The goal is to integrate the experience of going through this frightening disease and to move on. There is an unspoken understanding when you are with people who have shared a common experience: the feeling that you are not alone is powerful and healing.

No charge. Co-sponsored by the Breast Cancer Survival Center and Wilton Library.
