Raymond (Chuck) Mattes

Raymond (Chuck) Mattes is an active member of the Board of Directors at St. Vincent’s Hospital. As co-chairman of the Capital Campaign, he and the capital campaign committee raised over $45 million for the construction of the new Cancer Center at St. Vincent’s Medical Center.

Chuck was most recently the Executive Vice President and co-owner of William B. Meyer, Inc., a family owned and operated transportation and warehousing company. Chuck retired from the company after 36 years or service.  He has served on the UniGroup board for the past twenty years.

In 2006, he received the Gene Anderson Excellence Award for his leadership from UniGroup, Inc., the holding company for United Van Lines, Mayflower Transit, Vanliner Insurance Group, and TransAdvantage, Inc.

Chuck and Laurie Mattes have been married for over 41 years.  They currently reside in Redding Connecticut and have two beautiful daughters, Tara and Megan, and two wonderful granddaughters, Sahara and Stella, who are the light of their lives.
