John Ragland, Jr.

Co-Founder

John is Connecticut Challenge's Co-Founder and oversees the business side of its operations. This is his first venture into non profit work, preceeded by his 20 years of experience in developing businesses.

 

From consumer packaged goods to online media, John has successfully conceived, capitalized and managed six companies. He was Co-founder of Greenfield Healthy Foods, makers of fat free snacks, which sold to Campbell Soup. He later founded the online media property mysportsguru.com, which produced instructional sports content and was sold to Active.com in 2001.

 

Today, John is the CEO of the online marketing company, Contagion, which builds social and viral marketing programs for companies like Kraft, Conde Nast, Readers Digest and others. He is a graduate of Pepperdine University. John is also an avid cyclist and logs over 10,000 miles per year on and off road.  He is married to wife Kathy and has three girls.
